Namings

A naming ceremony marks the entry into the world of a new baby and formally acknowledges the significant physical, emotional and educational responsibilities of the parents. It is also a joyful celebration of welcome to the baby, especially for the mother and father, but also for siblings, grandparents and other family members and friends. It is usually a short, happy ceremony, with meaningful reflections and symbolism and the inclusion of other children. It marks a rite of passage, a point in life for the parents, an occasion for stepping out of routines and preoccupations in order to consider dreams, hopes and values.

This is welcoming ceremony of celebration for the new life of your child and an expression of your love, support and encouragement for him or her. It also formally introduces and acknowledges the child's chosen name and recognises those who will have a specific role in the child's upbringing, including grandparents and godparents or sponsors. It is one of the happiest reasons to have a party for friends and family.
